Cute Cakes and Pretty Princesses ♥

sorry for having vanished over the past few days, i intended to write a post yesterday about my new illustrations but i didn't get them finished in time!

you see, i spent all of Sunday afternoon drawing and sketching away in my room trying to come up with more candy themed designs but they took me so long to edit i forgot to write a blog post!

however . . .

they're finished today!

so sit back and enjoy a sugary little treat, after all, these sweet little designs are 100% calorie free!

what's on the menu for today then?

well, why not start with a tasty little macaroon, colourful, pretty and oh so delicious . . .

then maybe a yummy cupcake, with pink icing (of course) and a cherry on top

maybe you'd prefer something a little sweeter? try one of these little peppermint sticks or a strawberry swirl lollipop

fancy something with a bit more 'crunch'? then try one of these little lovelies! here we have cookies crammed with chocolate chunks, delicately iced biscuits and jam filled ones too

still hungry? then maybe you'd like to try a slice of this black forest gateaux, chocolate and cherry heaven in every bite

time to cool off, maybe you should have a yummy ice cream, take your pick from vanilla or strawberry whippy, with a chocolate flake on top

craving something a little creamier? try one of these delectable red velvet cupcakes, guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth

don't worry if you can't finish it all, i'll pop it in a bag for you and tie it up with a pretty bow

come on now . . . don't pretend you're not hungry!

they were so much fun to draw though! you all know how much i adore anything candy or cake related so you'll know i'm serious about how fun it was to edit so many sugary sweet things

* * *

so what else i hear you cry?!

well remember the little Cupcake Princess??? remember her big sister?

well now i'd like you to meet their mother, the Cupcake Queen . . .

(don't worry, the hair colour will all make sense eventually!) i've been meaning to draw her for a while now, still struggling to draw the Cupcake King but the Queen appeared quite easily for some inexplicable reason

since i was drawing dresses i decided to draw in the rest of the big sisters dress as well because when i drew out this little 'let them eat cake' illustration (available as a postcard print here - etsy) i left the dress unfinished, just cut her off at the hips, with no pretty gown or anything!

so i decided to have a little go at finishing her dress as well

i know it's kind of similar to the Queen's (+ they really look alike i know) but i wanted it to be that way, i want you to be able to tell that they're related but not entirely the same

+ i wanted the Queen's dress to be more decadent and detailed than her daughters

+ you can see where the patterns on the little Princess' dress come from,

don't they make a sweet family though, Sprinkles the dog is there as well! (just click on the image for a slightly bigger view)

* * *

not much else to tell today, as you may have gathered, i haven't left the house in quite a few days although hopefully i'll be meeting a friend tomorrow and actually get to see the outside world for once!

hope you've enjoyed this candy coloured post

that's all folks . . .

things that begin with 'S' ★

sunshine, strawberries, scrumptious, sweets, sauce, sprinkles, social, stalls, super stuff and Sienna

all things that begin with 'S'

(it will all become clear don't worry!)

right so today i went to the 'on your doorstep' exhibition at the Villa Marina with my mum + my little cousin Sienna to have a skeet at all the lovely Manx things on display

one of the main things i was excited to see was the 'Cupcake Creations' stall

i've visited their website lots of times before + spoken to them on Twitter (@CCIOM) but it was nice to actually meet Sarah and see all the yummy cupcakes for real

here's Sarah posing with one of her 'cupcake creations'

the display was amazing and the cupcakes looked truly scrumptious, they had a DIY cupcake decorating option as well and since little Miss Sienna is so fussy with cakes, i let her pick her own toppings

in the end she went with heaps of chocolate sauce, chocolate mini eggs, smarties and a mini jammy dodger...

i picked one too only mine was covered in vanilla frosting tinted with pink and covered in glittery bits

i can tell you now that it was indeed... delicious!!!

for more info about these tasty little freshly baked homemade cupcakes for every occasion, check out the Cupcake Creations website here - IOM Cupcake Creations

i should point out as well that Sienna actually ate all of hers, to the point where she was licking the crumbs and sauce off the cake case!

oh i'll show you my nails as well, in keeping with the little strawberry necklace i made last week, i painted my nails to match...

so what else? well to be honest i didn't get the chance to take many photos of the exhibition stalls, the place was absolutely packed and it was tricky making your way around all of the displays let alone snapping photos of them all!

i did manage to get a photo of the Groudle Glen Railway stall though, and Alex (or 'the train man' as Sienna calls him) pulled his very best model pose while i took a quick shot of the display

we'll probably be taking Sienna to the Easter trains next month which should be super fun as always,

in case you'd like to book yourself some tickets or find out more about getting involved with the railway, here's the website - GGR

* * *

one of the other main reasons i actually left the house today was to meet my friend Joseph at the villa because he had a truly awesome amazing and ruddy fantastical present for me!!!

since i'm not much of a 'gamer' anymore he's given me my very own purple gamecube to play on and even managed to get me a copy of my favourite old gamecuve game 'Pikmin'

i can't even begin to tell you how excited i am to be playing this again! this used to be my favourite game console and game to play on and i can't believe he has given me this!!!!

thank you thank you thank you!!!

Joseph... you are a star!

* * *

it's been a really super day to be honest, i've met with quite a few lovely new friends and caught up with lots of old ones + i saw my big sister Nikki for a bit as well which was nice

i guess i should actually bother to leave the house more if i want to catch up with people like i did today!

i got to pop in and see the new David Maddrell exhibition at the Sayle Gallery as well. big thanks to Joseph for coming with me since i don't really like to visit the gallery by myself (don't ask). and of course for carting the awesome gamecube all the way down into town for me!

* * *

oh i thought i'd share these pics of Sienna's doodles for you all to see,

she got this great notebook from the Manx National Heritage stall and it didn't take her long to start sketching away in it

these two show a giraffe with a shark on it's head and a picture of me scared of the 'shiraffe'

and these two are both drawings of me

she's clearly inherited my artistic skills!

* * *

and that's it, enjoy the rest of your weekend wherever you are

nothing else to say,

that's all folks...

Super Sock Monkey ★

hello again dudes and dudettes,

so this Saturday i decided to stay cooped up inside (it's cold and rainy outside so... no thanks) in the cosy warm and have a go at making some more felt creations

the plan hasn't exactly gone accordingly, in fact I may have accidentally spent the day so far watching Disney films and eating far too much coconut ice

but there's always tomorrow right!

anyway, i have some new 'sewing bits' to share with you

remember the little felt duck kit i mentioned in this post - Threads and Thimbles ♥

well my mum also got me a 'sock monkey' kit for Christmas

i had intended on spending Christmas day making it but i just ended up watching movies and eating chocolates...

so on Thursday evening when our internet service decided to give up on life, i cracked out the sock monkey kit and tried to have a go at making my very own super duper sock monkey

firstly, the kit made ZERO sense to me! so i abandoned the instructions and totally improvised...

the result actually didn't turn out too bad!

considering this is the FIRST sock monkey I've attempted to make EVER... I'm quite pleased with how he turned out!

i mean yes, he has a slightly wonky eye and yes the stitches are abysmal... but do i care?!

not that much actually!

after much deliberation i have decided to name him Seth since he shares the same initials as the truly fabulous and great Mr Seth MacFarlane (read my Super Sunday post about that Seth here - Super Sunday #3)

* * *

i also made THIS on Thursday at College

it's stitched into a piece of black card and it took aaaaages to do!

it's supposed to be a lollipop but some people have told me they think it looks like a flower so... whatever it is, it's pretty colourful i'm sure you'll agree

* * *

in other news, i finally organized my floss/embroidery silks

i know... that sounds so exciting doesn't it!

i bet you're overwhelmed by how thrilling my life is...

would you like to see a photo?

of COURSE you would!!!

there you go!

isn't it smashing!

tell you what, for that extra thrilling fun factor, here's a photo of some beads and sequins too!!!

gosh i really do spoil you!!!

* * *

continuing this terribly boring day to day theme, i also updated my Tumblr with a new girly theme

it's all in pinks, purples and blues

check out my Tumblr here, if you want to... - the jaded one

at the minute it's full of pretty girly looking stuff, which makes a change seeing as i usually just post Doctor Who + Family Guy related things on there...

* * *

thrilling as always right...

it's a Sunday tomorrow which means i really REALLY should do a Super Sunday post!

the only problem is... i haven't a clue who to post about!

here's hoping i come up with an idea in the next 24 hours

until next time...

(here's a headache inducing gif of my usual farewell message)

Hvala i doviÄ‘enja

(that's thank you and goodbye in Croatian on behalf of Croatia, i visited Croatia last September when i went to Montenegro for a wedding, it's a really beautiful country, hopefully i'll get to visit it again someday, hvala x)
